The Ltl Acorn 5610WA is an update to the popular 5310 series of cameras, with some new and improved features.
The Ltl Acorn 5610WA not only offers the ability to record superb HD video at 1080P (15ps) or 720P (30fps) but also record crystal clear audio and have much improved and very accurate timers over the previous 5310 series.
The Ltl Acorn 5610WA uses a large 44 no-glow infrared LED array for powerful night vision.
It’s available with the standard lens (5610a) and also the wide angle lens (5610WA – show above) version. The standard lens offers a 55 degree angle of view and this wide-angle lens offers 100 degrees.
The Ltl Acorn 5610WA has all the other usual Ltl Acorn camera features such as the ability to set timers (if you want the camera to only trigger and record at certain times of day/night), timelapse (which can be used to set the camera to only take a photo or record a video at certain intervals, i.e. one photo every 60 minutes for instance), time/date stamped footage, SD card recycling etc.
An additional feature of the Ltl Acorn 5610WA is that you can input GPS co-ordinates for the camera. These co- ordinates will show in a photos’/videos’ properties so, when you are reviewing the recordings later, you will know exactly where the camera was located.
The Ltl Acorn 5610WA can utilise up to a 32G SD Card and can hold a maximum of 12 AA batteries, although it can run of just 4, and comes with a 1 year warranty. View the rest of our Ltl Acorn camera traps here.
Battery choice is vital for the performance the Ltl Acorn wildlife trail cameras and we do not recommend using any batteries with a mAh rating of less than 2500mA. Duracell batteries should be avoided completely.

NatureSpy have used Ltl Acorn camera traps for a long time. Their versatility, excellent list of features and affordability means they are an ideal place to start if you’re interested in camera trapping.
The Ltl Acorn 5210a camera traps were used when our Yorkshire Pine Marten Project first started – you may have spotted them when we were on BBC Look North!
Pictures from our Ltl Acorn cameras have appeared in the Yorkshire Post, The Northern Echo, BBC Wildlife Magazine and on ITV Calendar.
One of the best qualities of these cameras is the 12MP images. These give a clarity that many other camera trap models don’t offer.
We always set the camera to take 3 pictures per trigger, and the images are taken at 4 second intervals after the first trigger.
The video quality is pretty middle-of-the-road with the Ltl Acorn, and you will get better quality with the Browning Recon range of cameras, or the Bushnell Core cameras.
Some of the Ltl Acorns (5610 series) have two separate configurable timers – great for if you don’t want the camera to be active at certain periods of the day. We use these timers when we have these cameras on schools, playgrounds or gardens, with the timer set to avoid the period where human activity is highest.
The built-in colour screen is also very useful for checking images quickly in the field and taking test shots. You can strap it up, turn it on, walk in front and then immediately and easily check when the camera triggered and the field of view.
You’ll also notice the unique sensor design – if you were to look inside the Ltl Acorn cameras you’d see not one IR sensor (as is the norm), but two. The top sensor faces forwards and is the main sensor. The bottom sensor is funneled into the two side facing ‘prep sensors’.
These sensors ‘prepare’ the camera in advance, so that when the animal approaches the main sensor and triggers the camera, you get optimal footage or images of the animal. This is demonstrated well with the fox picture above. Of course, a lot depends on the animal walking in the way you want it to!
All in all a great place to start with camera traps, and you’ll be impressed with the results.
