8.7/10Bushnell Engage EDX
New to bino tech? We explain it all here...The Bushnell Engage EDX binoculars are a fantastic 'all-round' binocular offering high-quality optics in a relatively compact build. Lenses made of ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass make a noticeable difference to the clarity of the image.
A particularly appealing feature of the Engage binoculars is the short close focus of only 1.8m. This makes them ideal for observing the fine details of birds, butterflies, other insects and flowers.
The 8x42 configuration is suitable for almost all nature-watching and monitoring purposes, providing a perfect balance between brightness and magnification. Keeping track of small, fast-moving animals is made much easier with the super wide 426ft field of view (FOV).
A lockable diopter ring is included on the right eye piece, which is very user-friendly. It allows for the focus to be adjusted accordingly to correct for any difference in visual acuity between your left and right eyes.
The rubber eye cup positioning can be adjusted using a twist-up design. The long 19mm eye-relief is an essential feature which ensures eyeglass wearers are able to view a full, unobstructed image.
Bushnell’s exclusive ‘EXO barrier’ technology has been applied to each lens. This protective coating repels water, oil, dust and debris. It also encourages the beading of water - a helpful feature meaning the lenses to be cleared very quickly in rainy conditions.
IPX7 waterproofing and fog-proofing allows for confident use in the field, no matter how extreme the weather.
The Engage EDX 8x42 binoculars are covered by a 20 year warranty period.
The Engage EDX binoculars are high end Bushnell binoculars. For a mid-range, more affordable pair take a look at the Prime.
