Ltl Acorn 6310MC…

All our Ltl Acorn camera traps are genuine. Find out how to avoid counterfeit Ltl Acorns online with our guide.

The new Ltl Acorn 6310MC series wildlife camera trap combines the extra infrared power of the 5310 series (44 infrared LEDs) with the 6210 series’ ability to record video at 1080P HD quality.

The Ltl Acorn 6310MC can also record audio.

The build has changed slightly too, with the LCD screen now on the back of the camera underneath a drop down door.

The Ltl Acorn 6310MC is available in white flash (which are more powerful but give a faint red glow) or with the “invisible” or “black” 940nm frequency infrared leds (invisible but about 70% as bright as white LEDs). Find out more about the differences in LED types here.

The camera holds 4 AA batteries as standard, which can give you running time of up to 3 months. However, this can be increased to up to 6-9 months using the additional 8 battery slots in the back of the camera (batteries not included).

The Ltl Acorn 6310MC can also take high-quality 12MP photos. Not only this, but the Ltl Acorn 6310MC camera trap also has superb prep motion sensors. These side or prep sensors are designed to prepare the camera in advance so that it is ready to shoot as the subject moves into the lens view, meaning you get optimum recorded footage of the animal or subject.

The Ltl Acorn 6310MC also has password protection, 32G max SD card storage (not included), time & date stamping and even a timelapse feature that allows you to tell the camera to take a shot/video at set intervals regardless of whether any movement has been detected.

The amazing thing is that this feature packed trail camera comes in a palm size casing of just 14cm x 8cm x 6cm!

Often known as a game camera, scouting camera, hunting camera or wildlife camera trap – this device is also used extensively for video surveillance in remote areas where connection to mains power is not possible or practical.

This camera also comes with a 1 year warranty.

Find out how NatureSpy use Ltl Acorn camera traps on the ‘What we think’ tab above.

NatureSpy have used Ltl Acorn camera traps for a long time. Their versatility, excellent list of features and affordability means they are an ideal place to start if you’re interested in camera trapping.

Ltl Acorn camera trap 5210a

The Ltl Acorn 5210a camera traps were used when our Yorkshire Pine Marten Project first started – you may have spotted them when we were on BBC Look North!

Pictures from our Ltl Acorn cameras have appeared in the Yorkshire Post, The Northern Echo, BBC Wildlife Magazine and on ITV Calendar.

One of the best qualities of these cameras is the 12MP images. These give a clarity that many other camera trap models don’t offer.

Fox on Ltl Acorn 5210a

We always set the camera to take 3 pictures per trigger, and the images are taken at 4 second intervals after the first trigger.

You can see lots of camera trap images from NatureSpy’s Ltl Acorn cameras on our ‘Species Spied‘ pages.

The video quality is generally good across the range and at this price level. If video quality is really important to you, there are likely to be better choices within reach – such as the Bushnell Essential E3, SpyPoint Force 10 or Browning cameras.

Some of the Ltl Acorns (5610 series) have two separate configurable timers – great for if you don’t want the camera to be active at certain periods of the day. We use these timers when we have these cameras on schools, playgrounds or gardens, with the timer set to avoid the period where human activity is highest.

The built-in colour screen is also very useful for checking images quickly in the field and taking test shots. You can strap it up, turn it on, walk in front and then immediately and easily check when the camera triggered and the field of view. The 6210MC has a slightly smaller screen but still performs the same role, and also acts as a useful viewfinder.

You’ll also notice the unique sensor design – if you were to look inside the Ltl Acorn cameras you’d see not one IR sensor (as is the norm), but two. The top sensor faces forwards and is the main sensor. The bottom sensor is funneled into the two side facing ‘prep sensors’.

These sensors ‘prepare’ the camera in advance, so that when the animal approaches the main sensor and triggers the camera, you get optimal footage or images of the animal. This is demonstrated well with the fox picture above. Of course, a lot depends on the animal walking in the way you want it to!

All in all a  great place to start with camera traps, and you’ll be impressed with the results. If you’re not sure what’s best to go for, just get in touch; we’ve been helping people to choose the right camera trap for them for years.

Great camera. The video quality is amazing and so are the pictures. Feels much stronger than my ltl 5210a with no obvious weak parts. I love how it can be locked up securly, so i feel fine about leaving it out to get some great shots. Would recommend this camera.
Also, thanks to James for great support for any question i have had. Thanks

I don’t normally leave reviews for things but I am making the effort here not only to express my appreciation of the item itself but also of the advice, guidance and overall friendly and helpful nature of James and his ‘outfit’.

The camera has its quirks, yes, but you only have to ask and help is on hand. The reviewer who was not impressed I think may have been after some sort of top quality reproduction that you may (or still may not) get having spent an awful lot more money than this. Be realistic. The daylight repro is excellent and I was also impressed with the night view – especially its fast response to adjusting to my garden security lights tripping etc. There is enough information and reviews on the internet about the camera so I will not dwell.

I was however very impressed and appreciative of the aforementioned guidance I received from James. The replies were patient, informative, personal and not pushy in respect of sales / profit. You only have to compare prices to see that this is very reasonable. Wildlife Services ( as an example / in particular ) offer / boast an ‘unbeaten’ support service – but I suppose you would expect nothing else when the camera will cost you an extra £100 more ( a few cheap batteries and a bog standard sd card etc’ thrown in’ accepted).

Once you have decided on what camera you want ( and ask James if unsure ) then buy from here for best value and best service.!! ( no I am not related ! )

For the money, I wasn’t expecting a top quality camera but I have to say I was a little disappointed in the quality to say the least. Within a short time the SD card wouldn’t lock into place so it had to be returned under guarantee, to be fair I did received a new camera promptly but it cost me £7.00 in postage.
Although the daylight photos are quite good, the night shots are very poor with a large amount of noise, perhaps choosing the black LEDs was a mistake on my part.
As said very disappointed in this camera and the poor quality.

      Hi Gary,

Thanks for your review. Sorry that you’ve been disappointed with the camera. We do refund faulty camera postage costs if it was within 14 days of you receiving the camera – let us know if this was the case and we’ll get that sorted. We facilitate any Ltl Acorn returns to make it easier for our customers – normally you would have to liaise directly with the manufacturer.

All Ltl Acorn cameras have 12MP quality, and are (at the time of writing) the best there is at both daytime and nighttime photography. We do show lots of night time imagery across our website from both our Ltl Acorn and Bushnell cameras that we use in the field, so that any customers can see exactly what to expect.

We’d be more than happy to give you advice and tips on how to get the most out of the camera – please just drop us an email or give us a call.

      Thanks again,

This is an excellent product. It’s very easy to set up and programme and we’re using rechargeable batteries. We left out some dog food and bones for foxes on the first night and were rewarded with some great pictures and video of a fox who returned several times during the night. We also saw what our two cats get up to! We intend to use it in several different locations in the garden to get the best pictures The long strap .allows secure fixing to posts and trees and after we worked out the best positions to get the best pictures, it’s even easier to transfer to different locations. A 32GB memory card provides plenty of storage space for video. We also received helpful purchase and product advice from James at the Nature Spy Shop.
