The Bushnell NatureView Cam HD Camera Trap is a wildlife camera with an 8MP CMOS sensor that captures still images and HD 720p video with sound. It also has an Auto PIR (passive infrared) motion sensor that automatically adjusts sensitivity based on temperature: in cold weather, sensitivity decreases, and in warm weather, it increases. Thanks to its Hyper NightVision technology, the camera trap’s 32 standard LED flash has a range of 60ft (18.3 m) for clear shots in low-light & night conditions.
The Bushnell Natureview camera is capable of capturing images at pre-set intervals in time lapse mode. The Moon Phase stamp feature links the current date to the phase of the moon on that date and imprints an icon on your photo, helping you to determine whether particular animals are inactive at night when a full or nearly full moon is present. Moon Phases also help determine whether a too-dark or too-light background in an image was due to the brightness of the moon at the time of capture. Additionally, the camera imprints a temperature stamp on your images.
The 8MP CMOS image sensor captures HD still photos and HD 720p video with sound.
The Auto PIR (passive infrared) motion sensor has a built-in sensor that automatically regulates sensitivity based on temperature, for consistent functioning across an array of different conditions.
You can also program the camera trap to capture images at pre-set intervals in time lapse mode.
The camera is equipped with GPS-stamp functionality – simply enter the GPS coordinates manually and each image will record the location, so you know exactly where your camera was when any animals were captured.
Find out how NatureSpy use Bushnell cameras on the ‘What we think’ tab above.
Our Bushnell camera traps are central to what we do. Their sturdy build quality, strong detection and video quality sets them apart. We have an intimate knowledge of what makes them tick after years of working with them.
The new 2019 Core and Core DS models represent a big step forward for Bushnell, with much improved case design and battery life, along with faster speeds and better video quality. The Core DS models in particular, with dual sensors for better day and night imagery, have been giving great results.
We ran a crowd-funding project at the end of 2013 to raise money for Bushnell camera traps as part of our Yorkshire Pine Marten Project, and still use more up-to-date Bushnell camera traps in our iWild North Wales and Deescover projects.
We used Bushnell cameras solely in the iWild North Wales project and to a lesser extent in the Deescover project, mainly due to their high video quality.
All of our environmental projects generate hundreds of camera trap videos every single month; you can see some of the highlights and quality of the Bushnell footage on our YouTube channel. Please note that all this footage comes from a variety of Bushnell models at different resolutions.
They are extremely hardy and able to resist both low and high temperatures very well, and the case is well designed.
The image quality is consistently good and it’s main stand-out feature is the video quality.
If you aren’t sure which camera trap is for you, don’t hesitate to contact us and we’ll provide the best advice we can. All of our staff actually use different camera trap models in the field every single day, so we are ideally placed to help you make the right choice.
